So the original plan was to start with Red Cone, which we decide due to
weather that would be a bad idea. So then we headed to for Webster Pass
as that should have been pretty easy. However, about 100 yrds into the
trail, as I was leading the group, I found that 32 degree weather,
snow, and rocks equal unbelievably close to zero traction. I got hung
up on some little 6-7 inch tall rocks that were slicker than snot, it
was like someone spread butter all over the place.

Since almost every
one of us fell on our butts while airing down should have been a clear
enough sign, me getting stuck was a certain sign. I could have winched
my way through but since we had been on the simple part of the trail I
cannot imagine what would have happened on a harder part. Plus,
anything off camber was causing us to slide downhill sideways. As we
turned around and headed back towards 285 there was almost a 5 FJ pile
up. Anyway, just to get some drive time in I took the crew up over
Boreas Pass. As many know, you can drive a Porsche Boxter up that route
on a dry day. Aside from a few slippery spots it was an easy drive with
a pretty view.
